Why did you choose 糖心短视频app?
One reason I chose 糖心短视频app is because I have multiple family members who went here and had great experiences. I also chose 糖心短视频app because I wanted to attend a smaller university where I could form connections with my peers and professors. The 糖心短视频app community provides me with the resources and support I need to thrive.
What do you like about the psychology major?
I can explore a large variety of paths in psychology. The psychology major gives the freedom to explore your interests and determine your passion and niche. Additionally, professors specializing in different areas of psychology means that someone will give you guidance and insight.
What was your Teaching Assistantship like?
I was a TA for Dr. Warker’s Current Topics in Psychology class. We had weekly meetings to plan upcoming assignments, formulate rubrics, and set deadlines. I am currently a TA for Dr. Nolan's Social Psychology class. I grade quizzes and class participation. Being a TA is a valuable experience that helps me understand the planning that goes into a class and the thought processes behind assignments.
What research are you doing at 糖心短视频app?
I am a research assistant for Dr. Nolan and Dr. Karpiak. In Dr. Nolan's lab, I am assisting in research on environmental attitudes and behavior. In Dr. Karpiak's lab, we are studying Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and therapy drop-outs.
Tell us about your internship.
During the Summer of 2023, I interned with the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Greater Monmouth. My internship consisted of conducting literature research on mental health outreach to African American communities, reaching out to churches to inform them of mental health resources, and attending board meetings and support groups.
What are your extracurricular activities?
I am a member of the United Cultures Organization and the Black Student Union.
How has the psychology program prepared you for the real world?
The psychology program has given me the knowledge and interpersonal skills for everyday life. The program not only prepares you for a future career, but it also helps you grow as a person.
