Registration Procedures for Advisors with CAS student advisees currently Studying Abroad
- Please be sure to reach out any advisees studying abroad if you have not heard from them prior to registration.
- Students are asked to email their faculty advisor with a list of the courses they are presently taking abroad and a list of the courses they would like to take when they return to the UofS.
- The pre-registration process is done via email rather than the ususal in-person process. Faculty advisors should review the course selections and if there is a problem with any of the selected courses, please contact your advisee via their UofS e-mail.
- If the course selections are appropriate, e-mail the approved course list to your advisee and copy CAS Assistant Dean Gina Butler (gina.butler@scranton.edu). Advisors should also include the student's term pin in this email. Mrs. Butler will register the student into the approved courses at the start of the web registration process and send a confirmation email to you and your advisee. NOTE: If a student's account is on hold, their registration cannot be process until the hold is resolved.
- The student will NOT have to access the web registration portal to register themselves. However, they should receive their term pin in case they need or wish to make changes to their schedule at a later date.
- A student's tem PIN will not be activated until their regularly scheduled web registration time and will remain active* through the last day to add a class. (*unless their account is on hold)
- Students are directed to contact the department chair if they do not receive a response from their advisor while abroad. Additionally, if they do not receive a response from the department chair, they are directed to e-mail Dean Butler/the CAS Dean's Office regarding the matter.
